ABOUT
Operative Neurosurgery (ONS), a companion publication to Neurosurgery from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, complements the clinical and research studies published in Neurosurgery by featuring technical material that specifically addresses surgery and the technical basis of neurosurgery.
Articles published in ONS highlight operative procedures, surgical anatomy, instrumentation, devices, technology, technical case reports, operative nuances and complications, and utilize rich multimedia content including 2-D and 3-D videos, high-quality anatomic and surgical illustrations, augmented reality, and animations. ONS is the practical resource for cutting-edge material that connects the surgeon directly to the operating room.
Since its debut over a decade ago, ONS has undergone a transformation to a standalone publication. A key component of this vision is the design of an expanded digital platform for ONS – a veritable “armamentarium” for neurosurgeons to be used daily at all levels of training and experience – and is known as “ONS: The Surgeon’s Armamentarium.”
This tool capitalizes and transforms legacy material from Neurosurgery, Operative Neurosurgery, and various journal-derived supplements and book holdings, as well as future material submitted to ONS. Utilizing a robust search engine and multimedia content delivery, The Surgeon’s Armamentarium places desired content, deconstructed or aggregated according to the needs of surgeons, when, how, and where they need it.
